Iranian ‘Eye’ is to compete at the 2021 Dhaka Int’l Film Festival in Bangladesh.

Iranian short flick ‘Eye’ has been selected to compete at the 19th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.

Directed by Mahshad Vali, a synopsis of the short film reads, “Reza and Ghazal are about to hold their wedding ceremony, but everything changes when a neighboring woman enters their house”.

Also written and produced by Vali, the cast of the film includes Mohammad-Reza Arabzadeh, Somayyeh Parsaee, Maryam Daneshvar, Fatemeh Babaee, Qodsi Davoud-Abadi, and Fatemeh Sajjadi.

The 2021 edition of the DIFF defined ‘Better Film, Better Audience and Better Society’ as its theme.

The festival’s website states the “DIFF is a bold expression of resistance against the decadence, vulgarity and cheap commercialism that pervades the mainstream Bangladesh film industry”.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held on January 16-24.
